Rani Mukerji Receives Prestigious Award at Maharashtra Film Awards

Rani Mukerji was honored with the Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award at the 62nd Maharashtra State Film Awards held in Mumbai, marking her remarkable three-decade journey in the film industry. The event gathered prominent personalities from both Marathi and Hindi cinema, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar presenting the awards.

Dressed elegantly in a green sari adorned with a red border, Rani captured the audience's attention. Her traditional attire was complemented by green bangles, a mangalsutra, and a gajra, enhancing her graceful appearance. During her acceptance speech, Rani expressed her deep connection to Maharashtra, stating, "Maharashtra is my birthplace and my workplace. This is an inseparable part of my life."

In her heartfelt address, Rani reflected on her journey, sharing that she has experienced both triumphs and challenges in her career. She emphasized the significance of receiving the award from her own people, saying, "For me, cinema is a medium through which we understand people." Her words resonated with the audience, highlighting her dedication to her craft and her roots.

CM Fadnavis, while addressing the attendees, underscored the importance of promoting Marathi cinema and theater. He announced that the state government is working on an action plan to increase the number of cinema halls dedicated to Marathi films, aiming to bolster the regional film industry.

Rani concluded her speech by reaffirming her love for Mumbai and Maharashtra, dedicating the award to the people of the state. She expressed gratitude for the support she has received throughout her career, stating, "This award will always have a special place in my heart. Please continue to shower me with your love and blessings. Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra!" The event also recognized other distinguished personalities, including Salim Khan and Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
