The arrest occurred earlier this week when security personnel discovered the fake ID during a confrontation involving Parekh and his companions.
The situation escalated when Dilip Kunde, 49, who was with Parekh, was found carrying a firearm. An argument ensued between the group and the mall's security staff, prompting Parekh to assert that he was a PMO official. This incident took place on September 7, just one day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled event at the nearby Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, raising further concerns about the authenticity of Parekh's claims.
During police questioning, Parekh stated that his intention behind using the fake ID was to impress his family and convince them that he was involved in a significant cause. Following their entry, the trio made purchases, including a perfume and a wallet, before leaving the premises. Efforts are underway to locate Bagul, who remains unaccounted for. Both Parekh and Kunde have been placed in police custody until September 11 as investigations continue.
